Rationale
Our approach to learning in an outdoor environment is hands on with a focus on inclusiveness participation and fun with particular emphasis on finding aspects of enjoyment for each individual. During the camp Del will introduce campers to the fundamentals of outdoor pursuits. These will include how to build a survival shelter in your back yard, raft making, signalling, map navigation and other specialist skills needed to survive in the wild.
Our Survival Expert
Del Logue
Del has a background in Education and he is a passionate outdoors man. Del has over eighteen years’ experience as a scout leader in Dublin and has accrued a number of skills and proficiencies including 'The Chief Scout Award'. His interests include mountaineering, camping, survival challenges, pioneering and backwoods skills. These passions have taken him on waterway trips in Scandinavia through the Alps and Pyrenees mountains to the Polish wilderness.
Our desired outcomes for your child
• To have fun outdoors.
• To learn the fundaments of surviving harsh conditions by using what you find in front of you.
• Participate in team challenges such as waterproof shelter building, map challenges using Walkie-Talkies and making bow and arrows and traps for hunting in the wilderness.
• To gain an awareness of what the outdoors has to offer if all our usual comforts were removed.
What Your Child Will Experience
